General Dividend Information

Increase in Dividend Payout Ratio

For dividends payable in respect of FY2014 and future financial years, the dividend payout ratio has increased from between 30% and 50% to between 50% and 70% of annual net operating profit (excluding asbestos adjustments).

Payment of Dividends by Direct Credit

It is James Hardie's policy that Australian registered securityholders will only be paid dividends by direct credit into their nominated bank account.

If an Australian registered securityholder has not provided direct credit instructions, they will receive a dividend statement setting out the amount owing to them. The dividend amount will be retained and only be paid once the share registry has received the securityholder’s direct credit instructions.

Securityholders wishing to provide their direct credit details or change their dividend instructions must provide those details to James Hardie’s share registry. This can be done online at www.investorcentre.com.au or by completing and returning the Direct Credit Form.

James Hardie has written to request direct credit details to all security holders who had not provided direct credit instructions.

Securityholders registered outside of Australia will be paid dividends by cheque, unless they have provided direct credit details.
